FTA Application

Thank you for choosing to foster one of our boxers! We hope this is an ideal fit for you and your family. This form combines the Adoption Application and Foster Agreement. You will also need to complete the Adoption Contract, which will be sent to you through JotForm.

The adoption fee must be paid before the dog enters your home.

What Foster-to-Adopt Means:

  • Vetting Coverage: HBR takes care of all the necessary vetting for the  foster  dog.

  • Supplies Provided: We supply a   Foster   Kit, including a leash, collar, and tags. While we may not always have all the tags, there's no need to worry—it's not a major issue. Occasionally, we may also provide a blanket donated by a group called Blanketing Boxers with Love.

  • Medical Supplies: HBR covers any required medicine, shampoo (if needed), and preventive care. If prescription dog food is necessary, HBR will provide this food.

  • Your Responsibilities: You will provide food, water, treats, shelter, and, most importantly, lots of love!

How the Process Works:

  1. Agreement: You agree to  foster  the incoming dog and complete the Adoption Contract along with the Adoption Fee. This fee can be transferred to another dog if this dog isn't the right fit for your family. We prefer Zelle for all payments.

  2. Medical Coordination: HBR collaborates with the family, individual, or shelter surrendering the dog to arrange a vet appointment for the dog.

  3. Acclimation: After the dog is vetted, you will pick them up and gradually help them adjust to your family. Go slow, especially if you have pets and young children

  4. Decision Period: HBR will allow you a 14-day period for you to decide if the dog is a good match for your family. During this time, you will provide behavior notes, including the dog's likes and dislikes, any medical concerns, and photos and videos. All communication will take place in the Foster Chat we set up among you, our Medical Coordinator, and the Foster Coordinator.

What If It Doesn’t Work Out?

If you find that the dog is not the right fit, you will continue to  foster  while we search for another home. This process may take anywhere from a week to a couple of months.  Please send us photos, videos, and bio information so we may continue to feature your foster dog on our social media accounts.
