Someone told me Lucy comes from the Latin word "LUX", which means "light". Well, there wasn't much light in my world on the streets. But thanks to a Good Samaritan who took me in and showed me what being cared for is all about, I think my future will be full of changes!
There is some stuff about me you really need to know. I am house trained, and even though I would rather not be crated, I only whimper for a little bit before settling down for the night. I have been a good girl when loose in the house, although for safety sake while I am in training I should be crated when left alone because I can jump baby gates with ease. I am playful without being excessively so, comical, sweet, and smart!
There are squirrels here and I would really like to catch one of those critters, so any small pets like cats might not be a good match for me. I know how to use a doggy door and I am learning how to be ladylike on a leash. But boy is it ever hard with squirrels around and so many interesting smells to check out! My boxer genes show in my love of play boxing with doggy pals. I'd really like to have a brother or a sister. Look at the pix of me and Minnie! Did I mention riding in the car is just the coolest?
In the past I was neglected and had very little food while living on the street. I'm embarrassed to say I get a little possessive with toys and food-but not around people-just other dogs. I am working on feeling secure and learning no one will steal my food and leave me with an empty belly. For now I am totally happy eating in my crate.
The other day I met a 6 month old baby human. I licked her and walked away. I didn't get over excited or try to jump or anything! I think that was very good; don't you? And I have met another little girl - she was fun to play with!
They say the best things come in small packages (42 pounds) so please don't pass over me too quickly! This Lucy is waiting to light up your life with love! Everyone needs a little light in their life... Please let it be me!
