Learn more about the Boxer.

Hello! I’m Sable and I am a beautiful, young, energetic, sweet, loving, boxer, girl! I’m here talking to you now, because I’m in search of a forever family. Rumor has it you are in search of a family member, so I’m thinking we were meant to meet! How about if I tell you a little bit more about myself, to see if we are a match?

One day, not too long back, I got very excited because I got loaded in the car. I love to go places, so I thought to myself, “This is going to be the best day ever!” Boy, was I wrong. It turned out to be one of the worst days ever, because they only drove me to the car wash. And once we got there they forced me out of the car, and left me there. They just left me. I was all by myself. I was so scared and alone, that I just ended up going and curling up in a ball. I didn’t know what else to do. Lots of people saw it happening, but no one stopped them or said anything.

Thankfully, someone told a very nice woman about what they had seen happen to me. They also told her that I was still there a week later. When she learned that, she came looking for me. When she found me, she told me she was there to help me and coaxed me into her car. (I’m a little apprehensive of cars now. After what happened though, can you blame me?) She brought me to her home, cleaned me up, fed me, and gave me a safe place to rest. That’s when she noticed that my leg was hurt. I wish I could tell her what happened, but I don’t speak human. Since I couldn’t tell her, she took me to the vet. The vet checked me out, did x-rays, but couldn’t find anything definitively wrong with my leg. The theory is, that I either sprained a muscle, or a ligament, and it just needs time and a little TLC to heal.(I’ve also now been checked out by an HBR vet who has said the same thing.) The other good news is, that other than my leg, I am healthy!

After that everything has been a whirlwind. Things started happening very quickly. My hero said she was going to contact HBR to see if they could help find me a family. Thankfully when she told them my story, they had an open foster home and they agreed to help. And that, my friend, is how I ended up hanging out here with my great foster family, waiting to meet someone just like you!

Since being here, I’ve been able to show my foster family a few of things I know to do in order to be part of a family. For example, I’ve shown them that I know how to only go potty outside, how to sleep in my kennel, and that I know how to give love and play! Giving lots of love and playing are my two favorite things to do. I love to play with toys, other dogs, and humans of all ages (especially the kids because they are lots of fun). When I’m not playing I want to either be snuggled beside you or the other dogs in the house. Or better yet, I want to be in your lap giving you kisses! I mean who wouldn’t want to be kissed by this face???

There’s one other thing I promised my foster mom I’d tell you, before I let you go. It’s about my name Sable. Not only do I have beautiful sable colored fur, but it is extremely soft just like sable. That means when we’re snuggling, it will be just like being curled up in a soft warm blanket. What could be better than that? Well that’s it, I guess. I’ve told you my whole story. Now it’s your turn! Please go

And fill out that adoption application so you can tell me all about you!
