Hi. I’m Kami I’m about a year and a half old, and I’m looking for my forever home because when my family moved recently, they didn’t take me with them. Instead, they left me behind to try and fend for myself on the streets. I wondered around alone and hungry. Fortunately some people took pity on me and helped me find food. Then I wondered up to a store and the people there not only helped me with food, but they contacted Houston Boxer Rescue to try and help me find a home. And that is how I became part of the HBR Family.

Thankfully today I am in a much better situation. I am part of a foster family and life is looking up! I get to play with the other two dogs that are here and the two kids that are here also. I really love to play! At first when I arrived, I wasn’t too sure what dog toys were, but now I am expert at playing with those. I play with them by myself, with the other dogs, and with the kids. They are a blast!

My second favorite thing to do is snuggle and give kisses. I don’t want to brag, but I am kind of expert at this too. I know how to curl up next to you in that “just right” position, or lay down at your feet so I can keep them warm until you are ready to move. Then, when the time is right, I like to make my move and give you the sweetest, most gentle kisses I can. What can I say? It’s kind of my thing!

I also want to tell you about how smart and well-mannered I am. I know how to sleep all night in my kennel if you want me to. I never go to the bathroom in the house and always ask to use the bathroom outside like a good girl! When you tell me “no”, I do my best to listen and rarely have to be told twice. I know how to walk on a leash and I’ll bark only when I hear someone at the door or a strange noise. 

There is one other thing I need to tell you about and that is that I am heartworm positive. Not only did my old family leave me behind, but it turns out they didn’t give me heartworm preventative either. Please don’t worry too much about that though. HBR has promised to help me evict those nasty old heartworms and before you know it I will be heartworm free!

Well I guess that’s it! Now you know all about both my past and present. They only thing left to write is my future. And I need your help for that… Start filling out that adoption application now so we can start writing our futures together!

Transport Fee:

Our basic transport fee is $300 for boxers traveling outside of Texas to their new homes up North. This fee may vary occasionally. Note: Transport is not available within Texas or Louisiana.
