Heartworm positive

****(1/8/21) Now that I have that stupid mast cell taken off of me, I am doing great.  I went into Surgery on 12/29 and the nice vet had my mast cell checked out.  It was a grade 2.  For those of you who don't understand the lingo.  Grade 2 is very common for boxers to have.  So, I have to be on Benadryl for the rest of my life.  I take the medication with out a complaint and it's easy to give it to me, since I love to eat.  So, I am ready to go to my forever home as of Monday, the 11th.  The only reason I am saying in my foster's home, is because they have to have my stitches taken out on Monday.

****10/29 Update****- It has been discovered that I have a mast cell tumor on my leg. I am so disappointed to hear that, believe me. But, on a good note, Houston Boxer Rescue has promised that they will do whatever is necessary to help me get over it though! I can assure you, I am one special guy! I have come so far in such a short time that I know I deserve to find a family that will take care of me now and always!

Hey everyone! It's me, Bones! First off, how could anyone not love this face?! A face only a mother could love some might say? I say it makes me unique! Well I guess you might want to know more about me, right? Cool, so I am a young little boy. My foster family thinks I am somewhat of a runt, but who cares? I am just a happy go lucky cool dude who loves to be around people. In fact, sometimes I get called Shadow. I just like to know that I am not going to be left alone because for some reason, that happened to me before. Thankfully a wonderful woman found me and brought me into her home until she could get me over to the great people here at Houston Boxer Rescue. I was kinda in bad shape when I first arrived, but I am getting healthy now and ready to find my forever home! I have learned how to only go potty outside and I love going on walks/runs and I am really good on a leash. I also do not mind going in my crate at night, or when my foster family leaves. You might have to put me in there as I am still a bit stubborn about going in, but once I am in, I settle down and you won't hear a peep from me. I have been told I have a great personality. I am very sweet and love to give those sloppy boxer kisses. I get along just fine with the other pups here at my foster home but my favorites are definitely human. I also don't really mind cats. I really just want a home that will treat me right and take care of me! I do have heartworms, but I am told they are easily correctable and they will be a thing of the past soon. All in all, I am just a really cool guy and I know I will make whoever adopts me very happy. I can even make you laugh just by looking at you with my beautiful face! Bet that made you smile just reading it, didn't it? So, won't you go ahead and put that application in fast? I cannot wait to meet you!
